MARINE ENGINEER

We are a 26-year-old marine service, sales and repair company. We service a wide range of customers from small local craft through to commercial vessels, visiting super yachts and vehicle fit-outs. We are currently expanding and seek a Marine Engineer with a wide range of engineering experience to join our team.

We’re located in central Auckland (Westhaven). We do a very broad range of work offering unrivalled variety. You would be part of a passionate, motivated team of people with a strong attention to detail.

The position will cover all marine systems from main engines/generators and pumps through to watermakers, treatment plants, piping, dive compressors, davits and cranes. The ability to do basic fabrication would be an advantage but not essential.

The successful applicant:

• Has experience in working with a wide range of other engineering machinery and materials.
• Can read and understand engineering drawings.
• Must be a team player.
• Is available to work overtime if required.
• Has the ability to work unsupervised, follow instructions and produce quality workmanship.
• Is adaptable and able to carry out a broad range of fitting/design and repair.
• Holds a current full drivers licence.

Of equal importance to your hands-on capabilities will be your ability to work with customers in a polite, focused and responsive fashion as you devise and implement their solution.  You will therefore be well-presented and an able communicator, so that you can elicit all the information you need and deliver on time to requirements.  

You will enjoy full support from the management team and you’ll be well-remunerated in return for your talent, but it will be very much left to you to carve out your own success, and self-motivation will have a big part to play.

We offer a wide variety of challenging work predominantly on boats but on occasion into the automotive industry.
