PROPELLOR SHAFTS

General Marine Services manufacture marine shafting from a variety of materials.  The most commonly used materials are 316 stainless steel and Duplex SAF 2205.

More exotic materials, such as Aquamet, can also be supplied.

All shafts are turned on a Harrison Alpha 550 lathe. A standard taper (1:16) or custom taper  can be machined as required. All components are lapped and blued to ensure a minimum of 75% contact between the shaft and coupling.

Any type of coupling can be manufactured from bronze, stainless steel or steel.

To complete the propulsion package we offer a full range of propellers manufactured to the highest level by ZF Marine. General Marine Services is New Zealand’s authorised distributor for the ZF propeller range.
